RV Accessory Recall Notice: Kidde Fire Extinguishers

  • Watch this video by Kidde to determine if your device is part of the recall

A broad line of fire extinguishers were recalled by Kidde within the past two weeks. We wanted to reassure all of our customers and potential customers, and RV owners out there, we are sifting through the applicable accessories in our present inventory.

The mission is easy: Find. Retrieve. Replace.

If you registered your RV after the purchase paperwork was processed, you will be receiving instructions on how to return the current Kidde Fire Extinguisher, if it was indeed part of the recall.

All of our location inventory monitoring, which includes Calera, Alabama; Hammond, Louisiana; Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; and Defuniak Springs, Florida of Dixie RV Superstores have designated personnel to inspect and retrieve all apparatus that are included in the affected model & serial numbers. Please find a more detailed list at the Consumer Product Safety Commission's website.

The replacement extinguisher shipment is expected within two weeks of remittance. Defective extinguishers are said to have had a failure to function and disperse the fire suppression foam. We urge you to be proactive, if you go camping and question the capacity of your current fire extinguisher - carry a newly manufactured extinguisher. This step should be a part of your quarterly maintenance and point-check inspection, along with testing your camper's smoke alarm and replacing batteries for continued monitoring.

While campfires are common, and injuries around campfires are extremely common, actual fires inside of RV units remain relatively uncommon. Our priority here at Dixie RV Superstores is the safety and security of your family, belongings and camper!
