Do any of you have photos of a Hitchhiker you've redecorated? I see and enjoy all of the redos shown here, but since we have a Hitchhiker, I would enjoy seeing some of them too. Thanks to all of you for sharing and I get lots of good ideas that will also ...  more

Painting, painting and more painting. Finally I'm done. New floor goes in next week. Has anyone used the peel and stick vinyl tiles? How did they hold up?

Susan & Richard I did this to a 35' travel trailer I lived in full time in the 70's.  Looked like new when I sold it to a friend four years later.  Tiles were still solidly affixed when they sold it three years after that, but they didn't damp mop or wax as oft...  more Hide 1 Reply

cheryl & jim Different types of tiles require different approaches.  ie. Asphalt base tile needs to be  glued down as you peel and stick it, because over time they will shrink and leave unseemly  edges.  vinyl tiles do not shrink so you do not need...  more Hide 1 Reply

Susan & Richard Amen to bumps and humps being magnified.  I saw that on one friend's job, so that was why I stressed that imperfections had to be sanded flat, along with clean and dry.  I saw my poor old trailer several years after the people who bought it from...  more

Hey, Guys, I've noticed a few people renovating/updating campers then selling them. Do you know if people are selling for a profit? Are people flipping RVs like they flipped houses?

cheryl & jim you can buy used and fix it up and sell anything that has intrinsic value.  The trick is to buy cheap enough and fix it cheap enough to resell at a profit.  My  hobby for my whole life so far has been doing flipping everything I can buy che...  more

Hi all! Glad to find this group. We are in the process of buying a 2009 FR Wildcat. The interior is not exactly our style but the whole unit has good bones, plus the price is excellent.

Steve and Donna Gordon I have used fabric spray and found it is hard to cover.  After 6 coats I gave up.   Go to fabric.com. They have inexpensive good quality material.  Then get some very thin plywood  (there is a name for it, but I don't remember it at th...  more

Dave_n_Sue I've recovered seat cushions before, and agree that it is easy. These are not cushions unfortunately. I'm just looking for a temporary fix until I can get together the time and a plan. Right now I just want to tone it down.

Jocelyne & Glen I painted my cornices' fabric with chalk paint using a brush. If I had done a second coat it would have covered the pattern underneath but I preferred to let it show through. It was very easy and a quick solution. They went from a dark brown to an aqua colour. Hide 1 Reply

Dave_n_Sue Thank you. Regular chalk paint like that available at WalMart or Michaels? I'll look into that.

Hank & Shirleen Chuck & Dawn, I don’t think they work all that well. Many newer RV’s have them & like ours are slow to drain. I noticed yours is installed on the down run. Ours is on the long run to the back, but it is somewhat down hill. Think that could be the problem?...  more
