        Vince & Sue I've gone that way before, but the toll is expensive. It's several bridges, causeway, and 2 tunnels. It's worth doing once as the views are spectacular. It also saves a couple of hours over I95.

      xctraveler Looking over the possible routes I would consider coming south through Buffalo taking I 90 to I 77 and then I 77 right into  SC. You should be early enough to avoid winter storms on the route and Interstates generally have the flattest routes through...  more Hide 1 Reply

        Deb Mc Yes I took that route 17 last year to Fla. and it was great ...no traffic but still interesting scenery...

      Meeska thanks everyone. Took I-77 out of Cleveland and it was great. Theres a super service center in W.VA. on I-77, don't know where exactly, but its super clean, had a bunch of trucks but room for RV, showers, AND it has a starbucks as well as 3 or 4 fast food places.

      SouthParkSteve It's been a LONG time since I was there, but when I was a kid, we used to go to the area around Deep Creek Lake, near Oakland, at the very Western end of MD. Not too far, and might be a good starter trip.....

      xctraveler Consider Mammoth Cave, there are several campgrounds in the area. A little further afield try Asheville or Nashville. You could catch some chill in any of these places in late Oct. Most of these are not more than 2 days easy drive.

      Vince & Sue Hocking Hills State Park is right in your backyard.  It has full hook-ups and is relatively inexpensive.  Berlin, OH and Amish country is nice.  We visited here for the first time this summer.
