SACnFrau We use Verizon jetpack with grandfathered unlimited data plan. Usually have decent signal without usage caps or throttling. Bypass park/business wifi & make your own. As others mentioned, check out Technomadia blog for great information on internet options.

RenaissanceCoach What are the realistic chances of someone getting a Verizon " grandfathered unlimited data plan" and the estimated cost? My understanding is that people sell there  grandfathered unlimited data plans for hundreds of $$$$

SACnFrau Sorry for delayed response.  We used a data plan broker recommended by Technomadia folks two years ago.  It was pricey to acquire due to using broker ($1400) but cheaper over long run ($50/mnth) considering the volume of high-speed data we use.&...  more

Jason & Barb Using an AT&T unlimited hotspot.  There are two plans $65ish and $85ish.  Go for more expensive plan.  AT&T only limits you on towers that are overloaded.  Towers with a normal load and you get great performance.  We use between 1...  more

SFSteven Normally I never really get to 'leave' the office. But for the time we spend on the Island, my office is down in the Motorhome while we stay up in the house.  It's the only time there is any separation of work/life for me.

SFSteven Currently we are using both a Verizon and a T-Mobile hotspot for data.  T-Mobile has been consistently decent 5 bars, and from 5 to 10 mbps download speeds.  Verizon was overwhelmed during the RV show, and unusable.  After the show, when a ...  more

SFSteven I took the 'better to ask forgiveness than permission' approach, and slowly transitioned my 8-5 office job to the road. The last step was easy because we got a new boss over our dept, so I just told him 'I'm always mobile' Hide 1 Reply

SFSteven @Mutter - Yes, the table comes off the pole, and the pole comes out of the floor. It gives me the equivalent of a wrap-around desk. :)
