Disney World will charge Guests for overnight parking at all resorts, except Fort Wilderness, starting March 21st, 2018. They said, at FW, parking is provided at your campsite for 1 motorized vehicle. Prices will vary according to hotel category. Those st...  more

Wayne and Donna As you said, this won’t directly affect us at FW (the one motorized vehicle limit is a good thing, IMHO), but for those who have strong feelings about this change, let me suggest you email Disney. I know from experience, they listen to their customers. RV...  more

Bandit455 There is a rumor that it is closed permanently, it is just that, a rumor. It is currently closed for repairs from the hurricane, but it will reopen

Wayne and Donna We have been watching that. I know there was a lot of tree damage to Disney property in general. It must have been more extensive at FW. Hopefully it will be open by the time we get there October 3.

About to book a stay at Ft. Wilderness for January 2018 22-26th. Is there any awesome trick to booking that could save me some money off of the ticket prices or anything? Just want to make sure I'm not missing out on some great deal avenue I don't know about.

Jim & Sharon Ham DOD and Annual Pass are the only real park discounts.  Never much discount on park tickets except that Disney really wants you to stay longer, so 5 to 7 day ticket offers the least-cost-per-day, but of course is the most expensive total price.  ...  more

Help! Ok people, getting ready to head back to Jersey. What is the best route to take to avoid I-4. There is way too much construction going on, and a lot of delays.

Wayne and Donna Take the toll road 469. It will rejoin the Florida Turnpike and you avoid all the I-4 hassles. If your GPS doesn't route you that way, take Epcot Center Drive to World Drive to Buena Vista Blvd to Western Way. That will get you there.
      • July 7, 2017
    • Gail&Bill
Wayne and Donna By the way, we NEVER take I-4 while in the Disney area. Even without the construction, it is always a parking lot.
      • July 7, 2017
    • Gail&Bill
Charles & Patricia Irwin I think Wayne means 429 a toll road. Will take you around Orlando then take 436 across to I-4 over to 95. Just an idea.

I have a question. We're packed and ready to head to Fort Wilderness. When you get to Washington DC, do you take the outer route ( upper) on 495 or inner route (lower) on 495, to go around it?
