December 13We have been KOA members for awhile and yesterday we had our first bad experience. We had reservations to stay at Cartersville, GA for a few days on our way to Florida. After checking in we were setting up about 15 mins into the stay the lady from the ...  more

(Proactive1) Jim and Jan Hollis December 14 Wow. Sorry to hear about your Dobie. We’ve owned 9 Dobermans over a number of years and they’re one of the “working dog breeds” - I also trained dogs to get through Grad School. Too many folks who have larger dogs do NOT get training for them or know how ...  more

Thistle Dew December 14 Unfortunately it isn't the Campground's choice. The Liability Insurance Companies put the screws to the campgrounds to ban certain breeds. One place we've worked had a sign in sheet where dog owner's signed off on what breed of dog they owned. If there wa...  more

Greg and Bonnie December 14 My husband and I live off I-75, just south of Cartersville and have stayed at that particular KOA..  We call it the campground of "NO".  They made us take down our First Up Canopy, said it would kill the grass.  Also, they told my husband h...  more

Michael Zike & Lynne Brooks December 14 Nothing to do with your dogs but we have stayed at this KOA twice and both times we found the staff running the place to be very RUDE. They will never get our business again. Also, there's never people in the office the hours they post.

Rusty LaBarre December 15 This and similar reasons are why I never make reservations through 800 reservation # but call the CG. They will ask you if you have pets. However, that doesn't address issues of rudeness. That's good to know.

The Rolling Stones December 11 Don’t miss the opportunity to stay at many of the campgrounds that can accommodate a 38 footer pretty easily. Mike&Carrie December 11 We are in Lincoln City now and only 1 park had a space long enough for us. Also when they start nitpicking on what dogs you can have and how big or small they must be then I won't give them my business. If I am paying a higher $$ to stay as a guest (not a...  more

Randy & Linda B December 13 What kind of dogs do you have?  Some breeds are going to be tough at any campground.  Liability and insurance issues are real.  Some dog breeds as a whole are more aggressive and insurance companies keep track of that data.  We love do...  more

Mike&Carrie December 13 We have a hound mix breed, a lab mix and a chihuahua. A few of the parks here say no dogs over 30 lbs. We are very diligent about our dogs and taking care to keep them on a leash and clean up after them immediately. The hound is getting on in years so she...  more

Gunner Bill December 12 Their bed is 4" thick and a blanket. On the floor they'd freeze in this weather. Or, more likely, be in bed with us. At night we warm them with a space heater, but shut it down when we go to bed. Then we just use a small cabin heater to kill the chill.
