Help!!! Looking for some guidance! I want to sell my house next spring and go full time. I have a 26ft TT that I will NOT live in. No storage, and WAY too hard to hook up. I have a Ford F-250 diesel, so pulling most fivers is not a problem. Hence my dile...  more

Jerry I have been full time since 2012, I spent 2 winters checking out what to get for the full time adventure and found out that was important is to have what I need and plenty of storage space. I move around a lot and went with a 34 foot motor home because ho...  more

Jim & Glenda I would go with the fiver that you are comfortable pulling and you can park it permanently for the summer

BelindaG Be careful with 250 series. The pin weight is to much on most of them. Do a lot of research first so you make good choices. Good luck. Hide 1 Reply

Judith & Mark 2X on Belinda's comment.  Check all of the towing specs -- not just the "trailer weight".  Here is the worksheet I used:  http://yourpcgeek.com/blog/technical-details/truck-capacities/   There are others on the Net as well, but make su...  more

Mills Travelers If hooking up your current rig is a problem for you, it will be no less so on another fiver or trailer. That's why we traded our fiver for a Class A. If storage is an issue, there are MH manufacturers that include a lot of storage in their designs (our Ti...  more

Rita and Bob Having two complicates your life. Leaving one empty creates cleaning/storage/inspection/maintenance problems. And it is easier to leave behind things you wanted to have with you.

Gloria Cap For all the reasons you stated, that's kinda how I'm leaning. DO NOT want to have a toad. If for some reason you need to back up, a fiver will do it, not so much with a MH and road.

Boots Gibson I agree and have an exterior solar blocking material too, but the sun shades really heap with direct sun.  Or camping where you are walking distance to the Pacific helps too--I recommend it!

Jim and Deb 'Mota We can usually escape the Willamette Valley heat by heading to the coast, but  while it's probably cooler here  than the valley, it's still uncomfortably warm.  Thankfully just two more days before it cools off a bit.

Paul & Doris Cunningham For the last 6+ years of full timing we have headed north and into the mountains.  We usually volunteer for NPS or Forest Service.  At our home base near Vegas it's 109, but it's only 75 in Flaming Gorge UT.  So far this has worked well for us.
