FYI: I'm a native of Colorado and staying at Walmarts has gotten hard. Most Walmarts in the Denver area and the south suburbs don't allow it anymore. I was told by one that somebody grabbed a girl from the parking lot and raped her. Don't know if that...  more

Claude & Theresa It is really unfortunate for all the folks that do not abuse the privilege of staying at Walmarts by those that think it is ok to do whatever they want. The Walmart close to us still allows overnight stays but I am sure it won't be long before they also b...  more

Heading South from Canada to Yuma we always stay at Walmarts and have a set of stores we visit routinely at about 250 mile intervals. One of these stores is at Blackfoot, Id, or at least it was till this year. Big signs all over the parking lot "No traile...  more

Little House (Hank & Selene) We've seen these signs many times, but customer service usually says its still okay to park.  In over 5 years, we've only been turned down in person once, and a couple of times on the phone, often with suggestions on another  Walmart that will l...  more

Lou N Kathy Although we will put BR slide out, and LR slide partially out on that same side, it's ONLY if that side is on the grassy or outside part of the parking lot....as far from store as possible, and NEVER fire up generator.  Shame how some will end up rui...  more

Matt & Mary We use Camp Wally a lot when we are in travel mode.  I don't think of it as camping, I have done a lot of real camping.  ONPing in a MH is just not camping.   What is unfortunate is that many RVs can't be lived in with the slides stowed. &...  more

Little House (Hank & Selene) We put bedroom slide out if we're against an outer edge, we use jacks with pads only if leveling is way off. We do use our generator in hot or cold weather, but not while sleeping.  Usually, the semi's around us are making much more noise! If we see ...  more

Little House (Hank & Selene) Best wishes for happy times ahead.  We've been fulltiming for over 5 years - best decision we ever made even if it ends tomorrow. We've stayed many times in Walmart lots and also KMart, Cracker Barrel, Home Depot, Flying J and Cabela's.

Jim O'Briant As with virtually all major metropolitan areas, Overnight RV Parking locations are extremely difficult to find, if there are any at all. You'll be lucky to find anything other than a truck stop or a rest area within 50 miles of NYC.

land yacht I-87/287 has multiple service areas within striking distance of the city.  These are very good stops and overnighting is no problem.  I use this corridor on a regular basis for overnight trips.  Never had a problem.

We just spent 3 nights in the Wal-mart in south Colorado Springs (Venetucci Blvd). It shares a large parking lot with a Sam's Club, and has it's own gas station that is big enough for most mid-sized RV's to navigate. Not only is the far end of the parking...  more

Jim O'Briant Yes, as long as the store is OK with it, and gives you specific permission for a stay of more than one night, it's fine. After all, it's their property. But as noted by others above, there are very few Walmarts or other retail businesses that will allow y...  more
