I have a question. Can you really Bend the chassis or frame while leveling the MH incorrectly? I couldn't tell when the jacks were on the ground. I didn't hear a buzzer or warning signal. I got them to high and had to start over several times. How would I...  more

Susan & Richard Our 2000 Harney Renegade is like a half sister to your Safari. Same jacks. We had to use our jacks one time when we got stuck (so we could block and get traction).  Have not noticed any adverse effects from that.  When we can see that we're way ...  more

Eloy&Gaye Thanks, I think they used the jacks to put new tires on. I wouldn't know if we were having an issue with anything unless it were really obvious. We haven't had the coach very long. Today I noticed that the top of the fridge is loose and leans out about 2 ...  more

Mike and Donna Wagner We have a 2002 Safari that also has a Norcold gas/electric refrigerator. We had to replace it last year. It has a flange along the front sides that attach with screws to the wood cabinets on both sides. The flange and screws are covered with a decorative ...  more

Susan & Richard Refrigerator Level - Be vigilant on keeping the frig level.  We lost one several years ago, from being off level. Had a device installed that turns it off before it goes to critical.  Well worth the cost.  You will see them at the RV shows ...  more

Eloy&Gaye Thanks, I have an appointment to have it fixed next week. I'm praying that it makes it ok for our trip this weekend. I'm going to turn it off while we travel.

Eloy&Gaye How hard would it be to take it out ourselves and rebrace it? We only see 4 screws across the top that aye screwed to 2x2 wooden blocks. The blocks don't appear to be attached. No screws down the sides. The RV repair place charge $125 an hour.

Garland & Sharon Groom my 99 does not activate lights with engine retarder.  Check with your chassis manuf on how to set up the controller--most RV dealers can not deal with it as all part of the chassis--Freightliner, Spartan, or ??, talk to you local dealer service cente...  more

Bandit455 Thanks, I have never seen the brake lights activated w/ engine brake on any other vehicle, but to be honest, I never looked! Winnebago says it is wired that way from Freightliner so who am I to second guess them:) ? I can isolate the two inputs easily eno...  more

I found this group while browsing through future rallies. We jumped into our first RV only a little over two years ago when we bought a 1997 35' class A. Over that first year of learning and fixing, we made a decision to trade that for a DP, sell our Fl...  more

Rusty LaBarre Welcome to the group!  Are you a member of this chapter of FMCA?  Don't see a name here to cross check - not that you need to be a member, but you will benefit if you are.
    • Jon & Vickie (gosh i love this neighborhood)
Bob and Sheryl S. I can appreciate what you're going thru. We are at the final stages of getting our house of 12 years ready to sell. We are sooo ready to hit the road full time. Another week to 10 days and our Panama City, FL house will be on the market and on the road we go.

I just happened to find this group today. We have a Nexus Bentley on a Freightliner frame with a Cummins diesel engine so I have joined both groups on the RVillage website. Do I also need to join the respective chapters?

Susan & Richard Well worth having the group memberships. Inexpensive and adds to your resource list and fun quotient as well.  Enjoy!
