After thinking "there has to be something we can use to seal it from the inside", we went to Lowes last night and browsed. We found the answer in plumbing - the brownish-black foamy material intended to be used to insulate water pipes.
The distance between the slide and floor was about 1 1/4 inch. The material is for 1/2 inch pipes and is about 1 1/12 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch hole down the middle (like the "noodles" used for swimming, etc.. It seems to be the perfect size for sealing out unwanted air. Time will tell if it continues to work and does not remain in lose it "cushionist". The cost of this fix was $3.00 (plus sales tax) since we need three six foot sections, so if we have to replace it it is not expensive.
Perhaps we are the last ones in the group to discover this, but I thought it might be something good to share! less

Your slide seals must not be sealing off the opening properly. I looked at your profile and see you 5er is a 2017. I would assume it still has some warranty left and would immediately take it to Elkhart or the closest dealer to have the slide seals addressed before the floor starts to rot out. Slides, properly deployed should not leak, even air. less
