September 15, 2019ISO suggestions of camping facilities that are handicap friendly across the USA. Very few campgrounds that we’ve been to are handicap friendly. We’ve only been camping a short time, so any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Horseyloverk September 15, 2019 Like level site...not where you must step up or down from the RV site to the picnic table. Maybe use ATV or wheelchair to actually wander around the park. Access to beach/fishing would be nice too, without having to use the steep boat ramps.

TheClearyClan September 15, 2019 The RV Park we have been seasonal campers for 11 years allows electric golf carts, not gas. They also do not allow gas powered ATVs. Motorcycles are to be walked to and from the park entrance, but from what we can see no one with a motorcycle seem to beli...  more

timlsalem September 15, 2019 I've been to many state parks that are handicap friendly.  Also RV parks will usually have sites specifically for handicap.  Just let the know when you're reserving.

Texas_Nomads September 15, 2019 I agree with Bob and Tim above.  Every State, National Parks plus all the RV parks we have been to, have handicap accessible facilities and sites. Since your profile does not list any issues (or any personal info), your profile picture shows a nice 5...  more

Horseyloverk September 15, 2019 The fifth wheel is all automatic thankfully!! It’s a toy hauler so we can take the ATV and wheelchair, but so far we’ve only been allowed to unload ATV but can’t drive around a campground. That’s why I was asking about handicap parks. My daughter, nor m...  more

Travelp4l September 15, 2019 As far as handicap friendly, a good rule of thumb is to ask if the park is Federal.  They have designated wheelchair friendly sites and you get in for free.   Hope that helps. Happy Trails.

Tink & Chuck September 15, 2019 We bought our toy hauler for exactly the same reason, so on days that I needed my powered wheelchair (which is becoming more frequently) I could use the garage to gain access to the rig. As for the search for parks, we are Thousand Trails members, and ha...  more

Horseyloverk September 15, 2019 I’ve never heard of Thousand Trails. Will try to find it! We aren’t aware enough to know what campground is where. Usually drive till we find a spot. Didn’t know about ADA sites, but will be asking from now on! We’ve been to 2 parks in MS, 1 in TN, 1 in...  more

The self-closing design on the R.V Bug Stop keeps the slider on the R.Vs screen door closed. Installation is simple and requires no tools. just pull off the film from the tape and attach it to the horizontal rail under the slider. no more yelling at someone for leaving the slider open. with no bugs coming in you can sit back and relax thanks to the R. V. Bug Stop.
