Mr.disaster September 18, 2019 We have always carried a portable fire pit.  After three years of nearly total burn bans out west we bought a propane fire pit.  Safer, but it can go through the propane quickly.  Only once were all open flame appliances banned.  It wa...  more

Brenna Lile September 18, 2019 Harder to roast marshmallows?  Please explain.  I was worried about the mess they might make if they fall off the forks, and the taste from cooking them over propane instead of wood.

Randy and Kimberly September 18, 2019 Yes but in some areas it still considered an open fire.

Jim N. September 18, 2019 Just bought one. Do I like it? Well that all depends. It was wet last weekend. The propane lit, I burned a good hot fire for an hour and I shut it off, It is nice, but a 'Camp Fire' with the Snap, Crackle, Pop, the changing colors and dancing flames it is...  more

Jerome Jankowski September 18, 2019 When we were in Glacier last year during the fire ban someone lit one up and the rangers said they were ok. What they didn't like about them was people would see them and think it was ok to have a fire and light one up so the rangers were running around a...  more

Christie P. September 18, 2019 We had the little red one from Camping World and used it in AZ on cooler nights and it used so much propane that we got rid of it.

John & MK Harpel September 18, 2019 We’ve had one for several years now. Got introduced at a HeartlandClub rally in Colorado. We really enjoy it. We added some glass fireplace beads and they add some sparkle to the fireplace “coals “ that came with it.

Seann (the Canadian) September 18, 2019 I have one (Costco) and it is good but I find the heat is not the same as from a wood fire.. I modified mine to plug right into the BBQ port on the side of the trailer..

WeareMovinforward September 18, 2019 I picked one up online several years ago. Initially I bought it for my covered patio. I live in northern Illinois. The fall and spring evenings are quite chilly and it radiates quite a bit of heat. I like being outside and it allows me to extend the seas...  more

Greg & Toni September 18, 2019 Got one for Christmas (from Lowes).  Have only used it a couple of times, but really enjoyed it and it is nice in areas where there is a fire ban.  I got a spare 20# bottle that I put in the rear bay.  Nice not ot have to mess with firewood.
