    May 1, 2020Hello everyone,
I have a question about the air conditioning setup in our 2014 Sandpiper 355RE. The unit is a Dometic duo-therm 15,000 BTU. Our RV is just shy of 41' and the AC is located in the living room at one end. The AC unit itself works just fine,...  more

Barry & Millie-Ambassadors May 1, 2020 Not sure how duct is routrd but may be blovked or disconnected

Bandit455 May 1, 2020 If you have the ducts open all the way closer to your unit, the vents further away may not get much flow. If you have not tried this yet, close the ones up front partway, and see if that helps with airflow towards the rear

Greg & Reba May 1, 2020 Make sure that the quick cool down (if so equipped) on the interior ac panel are closed. There should be a tab on the cover to slide. When open, they allow air to flow directly into the area below the ac to allow the main part of the cabin to cool down qu...  more

pokeysRVadventures May 1, 2020 Mine does the same, It's because the unit is mounted in the rear and the bedroom in the front. Less air flow. Gary and Joy May 1, 2020 I don't know what grill covers you have but this mod really helped our Montana. Use a utility knife to modify the vent grill.

        V&J May 1, 2020 Thanks everyone,
These are the AC vents we have and I noticed there are 4 between the living room and kitchen, plus the vent on the unit itself. I'm going to try covering a few now and see if that helps!

Gary and Joy May 1, 2020 Take those grill covers off and see if the air flows better.

WeMustRV May 4, 2020 Our Class A has twin AC/units that cross feed.  One thing we have done is adjust the vents for the area we are in to direct most the air to that part of the coach.  In the evening we run off the front AC unit to avoid have the bedroom one run/

V&J May 8, 2020 I ended up covering 3 of the 6 vents in the kitchen/living room area and have a huge difference in air flow! Thanks everyone for your help

Bandit455 May 8, 2020 My vents can be closed, very similar to these. Might be an easy ‘clean’ solution for you... www.ebay.com/i/123830067323?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=123830067323&targetid=884989444770&device=m&mktype=pla&g...  more
