SkylarWhy didn't I think of that? Tips and Tricks:
May 9I’m dealing with a black water tank problem that’s driving me crazy. I can’t get it to drain out all the poop. (I never put toilet paper down there). It all started about 2 weeks ago when I decided to clean it out. I’d waited too long to tackle this so th...  more

Glen & Margie May 9 Buy a black tank wand for your water hose, open black tank then turn water on and stick wand down toilet and slowly rotate wand 360 for about ten minutes and that should break up any poop and flush your tank. Use the wand often to clean the black tank.

Kayo May 9 All I can tell you is that for the past 17 full time years, with two RV/s I have not had this problem. I use single ply, septic tank safe toilet paper, (Scotts 1000)  add 3-?4 oz. of Bio-Active Holding tank treatment and lonely dump once a week (or u...  more

murray j ferguson May 9 The wand is a good idea. Buy two large bottles of coke and pour into the toilet - let it sit for at least 24 hours and see what you get.

charles formby May 9 Coke full of acid, should work, but when I load up to travel HOT water, gallon of vinegar, 2 bottles of Alcohol, cup dawn. Let it soak as Lind as you can. Plus NEVER up or put in any PAPER! May take several times

Brian&Nadine May 9 Two words " Camco Torpedo" tank rinser. I installed one on my last two rvs. Does a good job of cleaning the tank. I usually run it for about 5 minutes after I dump.

Skylar May 9 Thanks for all your suggestions. I’ve never put toilet paper in my tank. I’ve been a full timer for 4 years and never had this problem before. I can’t use a toilet wand to flush it out because of where the water spigot is located I can’t get the wand insi...  more

Norm & Ann Burgess May 9 How much water do you keep in your black tank!?

Skylar May 9 The same amount I always use. Two toilet bowls full...I also put some Dawn detergent in as well.

Kayo May 9 go on line and do a search of Phreds Poop Sheets. Best advice  you will ever et. And "NO PAPE$R in the toilet? That's nuts! It is made to handle septic safe toilet paper. And a mixture of several different things? The stuff off the shelf at Wallyworld...  more

Robbie & Alice May 9 I know this may sound strange, but when I read about your problem, and that it worked just fine for the technician, the first thing that popped into my brain was that maybe the pull handles were labeled backwards??? gray is black and black is gray????

❛Trailers & Cigarettes❜ ❥YouTube May 9 Sorry to hear your story. The first thing that came to mind was; perhaps a toothbrush, or some foreign object fell in? Something might be logged at the release channel creating a beaver dam of poop. If you go through the other side; the backside like a&nb...  more

Pat & sister May 9 You're only using Dawn and nothing else to react with waste?  I used Dawn for a while but also included Calgon water softner and bleach.  There is a recipe for this on the internet for specific amounts.  I tired of this and now use Happy Ca...  more

TeamFoxy May 9 Our 2005 Itasca Spirit class C. (Same as a mini winnie) had black and gray tanks which were wide and long, but only about 6" high. Solids tended to get stranded well away from the drains. Our solution was to add a lot of water to the tank by putting the s...  more

Jim & Sharon Ham May 9 We also use the Calgon treatment and it keeps stuff working in the black tank.  For quick cleaning, there is the white cleaning spray rod that goes on the end of the garden hose, and you stick it down in the tank thru the toilet, and rotate the rod w...  more

FlamingoMoon Campers May 9 So here is a possibility of what could be happening, you Black tank (BT) pull valve could be leaking and the liquids from the BT are running out thus leaving the solids to build a poop pyramid. I know this because I have one of those valves, I am not sur...  more

Lanky007 May 10 We just dealt with a similar problem. In our case our black tank had come loose from the clips that hold it to the frame underneath and this happened only on one side. Our tank was not level but it was level enough to drain some when we dumped it. Hubby w...  more

Jared107 May 21 Get a garden hose, stick it down the poop shoot.. Hook it up to your tap and rinse the tank. I always rinse mine that way prior to winterizing, also have the black tank sprinkler system but it's not as effective as the garden hose.... Gloves ...  more

TheClearyClan May 21 We have a Camco Swivel Stick Black Tank Wand. It has a valve and a brass spinning sprayer powered by the water pressure. I can actually get the tank monitor to read empty.
