Dan&Jo May 26 Agree, from Walmart Everstart, VMAX, UB (Universal Battery)= inexpensive and good quality. At 30% or LESS, the price of some name brands, you can buy new ones every 3 years (even though they last 5-6) and still come out financially ahead. But that's just ...  more

Dreamers and Travelers/ Tom & Prescott May 25 Depends on what you need it for, how often you RV & if you dry camp. Two 12v are better than one. We've bought our's at Costco. But we also use their 6v's to operate an inverter for dry camping (boondocking) off grid using solar panels.

John T May 26 For RV use, especially if you're going to do any dry camp boondocking, the "best" battery for THAT purpose is obviously A FULL TRUE DEEP CYCLE.   FYI That's NOT one of the cheaper dual purpose hybrid sometimes called RV Marine batteries,,,,,,,,,...  more

TP3 May 26 Hello John T.  Enjoyed reading your comments.  It does bring to mind a question.  If you change from flooded lead acid batteries to a AGM battery, would you have to change the convertor to a newer updated version that is designed to be used...  more

Dan&Jo May 27 John T your statement "but you asked whats best and mentioned an RV so there you have it" explanation leans way over to the "boondocking" side of things and ignores every other post from people that may not boondock as much. My wife and I are full time RV...  more
