    2. Flush 1 cap of Calgon and 1 cup of powdered detergent down the toilet after every dump.
    3. Circle the date on your calendar when you dumped so that you can track ho...  more

Solo Joe (Solo No More) June 25 I would disagree with #1. A septic tank allows solids to sit and decompose for months at a time. I don't know any RVers that allow that much time to elapse between dumps. As far as the TP goes, I've never had a problem with any 2 ply TP. I have a tank flu...  more

TheNewMexicoVagabonds June 26 A lot of TP is septic safe now. After tank cleaning, I put in Calgon and Dawn. I use Digest-It on a trip and the ever useful ‘Happy Camper’. Never had a smell or a problem.

KBB June 27 How much Calgon and how much Dawn. Our black tank never seems to read empty but rather reads 1/3. We use digest and happy camper, and a wand that blasts the tank.

Lorraine and Mike Cimino June 28 I use one capful of Calgon and one cup powdered laundry detergent. I don't use Dawn but have heard using it may be the same a Calgon which is used as water softner. Since doing this our tanks show E. Before it showed half full after emptying. Another RVer...  more
