    Jebbuck Dutch Oven Cooking:
July 12, 2020I looked into buying a dutch oven and there are different sizes. Which size is best to start out with for beginner and cooking for just two of us?

Nmdude July 12, 2020 I prefer an 8” or 5 1/2 quart for most things. I do like a very small one to do cobbler for just two but it is also fun to make a bigger one and invite neighbor campers to join for dessert :)

Need2Retire July 12, 2020 We prefer the 12".  It gives you a lot of versatility to do soups, stews, roasting and desserts.  That is what we started with and have since added a 10"and 8".

Scott N Marie Nicholson July 12, 2020 We have both a 9" and a 12" both of them have their good and bad points. Since its usually just the 2 of us the 9" gets the most use.

dstowe Dan and Pam July 13, 2020 I would start with a 12 inch.  You can do a lot with that.  Buy Lodge brand because quality is important.  I have ovens from 8 inch to 16 inch and use my 12's the most.
