July 28, 2020Storage under dinette seating?
Has anyone added a drawer to the base of the dinette? We have a decent sized u-shaped dinette and the bench seats are completely void under! It is on the slide part but it is a short slide, I would imagine I could do some ...  more

Bruce & Linda (Omnibus) July 28, 2020 Using the space under dinette bench seats as storage is pretty common, unless there are other things under there already, like a furance or hot water heater.  Surprising that this space is simply unused in your rig.

The Helton's July 28, 2020 My husband built me drawers with slides under OURS! Love them!

EmmyT July 28, 2020 I’ll have to take some measurements this weekend when the slide is in and out and see what I can do!

Trailerite July 28, 2020 I just fill with stuff we don't use often. It's a pain taking the bench seat apart, but it's great storage space and is right over the wheels of the travel trailer. Drawers are nice, but they reduce the storage space.

Jenna & The ZARGON July 29, 2020 generally that space is pretty generous so if you are going to put a "drawer" in there, design it to fit as much as possible... you can get extra long, full extention heavy duty slides online.   Good luck and have fun building them.   (H)

TeamFoxy July 29, 2020 Our current motorhome came with drawers and they are handy to have. But in our last MH, I cut out a couple of rectangular holes on the inside faces under the table. The original idea was for the cats to have a secure place down the road, but they didn't u...  more

Jim & Sharon Ham July 29, 2020 What a waste of space from the factory.  A drawer does eat up some space for the hardware on the bottom or sides.  If you can fix a hinged door on the front, that allows easy access and full use of the space, but of course stuff at the back and ...  more

Sarahk July 29, 2020 Ours have door access on the ends of the seats. My husband built drawers. The U part of the bench is where the teenager stashed her dirty clothes during the trip.

P&TPavao July 30, 2020 I have Rubbermaid long narrow clear bins from Canadian Tire in mine, you can pull them right out so there’s no problem getting the items at the back. Works awesome
