MindfulNomad (Eric) November 7, 2020 It's difficult to let go but if nobody wants them, there is no point holding on to them. For myself, my sense of freedom has increased as my possessions have decreased

Mr.disaster November 7, 2020 No easy solution.  You might consider a storage unit for a while, or cosigning some items to an antiques store.  We are three years in and still have 3 units.  We thought we were bad until we met a couple who have 5 in 3 states!

Mike Hendrix November 7, 2020 I do not know any group that you can discuss this with.  But virtually ALL Full Timers have gone through this, and most will tell you it is the most difficult part of going Full Time.  Our children were blunt...painfully blunt, they did not want...  more

Happier Campers November 7, 2020 If you find it really impossible to let go of these items then let your daughter take what she wants now and put the rest into a storage locker, and give your daughter the key. Downsizing is a process that takes time and once this huge heirloom burden is ...  more

Danielle Jackson November 7, 2020 I went with giving things away to family members now, vs waiting till I die. Then I put tons of my clothing on consignment. I’m presently, packing boxes in three different categories (1 - keep, 2 - camper, 3 - garage sale). The “keep” boxes are going to t...  more

Carl and Brenda November 7, 2020 I found it freeing that my children/family will not have to go through clearing it all out after we die. Gary & Debbie Glenn November 7, 2020 Donate it and take a nice right off at the end of the year. It will feel good to let it go.

WanderingSomeMore November 8, 2020 We put the items that we planned to take with us in a storage unit. Gave away, sold or donated the rest of the items. Sold the home, took the RV to storage unit and loaded it up! Here we go!

Patte M November 10, 2020 I am a donate kinda gal.  Told the kids come get what you want, rented a storage unit for keepsakes, had a yard sale, called United Way to come get the rest.
