Jim and Jan Hollis November 12, 2020 This is an EASY RV question - get the two separate units, a washer and a dryer.  Splendide is the most popular set.  They are manufactured in Canada but sold at most RV Dealerships.  We have had a set of these for 5 years and 45K miles.  They are excellen...  more

Beth Allen November 12, 2020 Thanks for the information.  Did you get your washer/dryer  immediately when you started RVing or did you wait to see if you really needed it?  Lead me, guide me.

CCB Movin'On2 November 12, 2020 We agree, Splendide is the brand to buy. Originally we had decided we wanted the space for storage and we’d use whatever service was available as we traveled. Fast forward: Our motorhome came equipped with the stacking set and we are so happy it did. It i...  more

Debbie/Ce/Niki November 12, 2020 DON'T DO IT!!! Ours shook the whole rig, the loads are really small so you are doing laundry all the time, AND when they installed it, the first time it drained it flooded the front closet and most of the bedroom. If you go to a good laundromat, you'll on...  more

Bill Joyce (and wife Diane Melde) November 12, 2020 Sounds like they also did not undo the shipping bolts, since that is often the problem when it shakes the while rig. Anyway we have used a vented Splendide combo unit since 2004, and we were fulltimers until October 2018 and now live in the RV 6 to 7 months a year.

Beth Allen November 12, 2020 Thanks for the info.  Not to mention the "testimony" on Camping World.

Jim and Jan Hollis November 12, 2020 Having work done at many Camping Worlds is like a disaster world. Stay away and go to a highly recommended RV repair center.

ANNIENDON November 12, 2020 You cannot believe much of anything that Camping world says...been our experience.

RV park that has a laundry or stop in town at a laundromat. I am not sure I would want to give up the space for a washer/dryer.

Beth Allen November 12, 2020 You gave us something to think about.  We are planning to start off with small trips to get our "feet" wet and gain some experience, so a washer/dryer may not be necessary for a weekend. But when we finally retire and start taking lon...  more

ANNIENDON November 12, 2020 One other thing to consider folks is that a washer is fine if you are on full hook up with no need to dump but if you are boon docking or staying at electric/water only sites the washer fills up the gray tank pretty fast.

Jim and Jan Hollis November 12, 2020 Get the two units when u start out. You’ll have the room and who wants to go to a freezing cold or burning hot laundromat when you’re traveling??? Not us. We’ve loved our units and well worth it.

Wendy & Brian November 12, 2020 I have the Spendide 1100 which is a combo unit. I love it and if you do little loads every few days it is easy to keep up with the laundry.

Kevin & Leslie November 13, 2020 We have the spendide separate unit. We love being able to wash whenever. It certainly come in handy when feeling under the weather. We don’t have a weeks worth of clothes for every season! Thus the small size loads don’t bother us! ...  more

Bandit455 November 13, 2020 I don't have a W/D now, keep thinking about it. Most CG's I am at have a decent laundry facility. I did have an incident in one place, one time. Ran the wash cycle and transferred to a dryer and dropped in my quarters, set the timer on my phone to be back...  more

Lenny A November 14, 2020 I've had it both ways. The W/D is only useful in a park. Or you use up your water and Gray tank. It's so much easier to use the park facilities or go into town once a week. You'll find even with the machine you'll do it anyway for convenience and capacity...  more
