JoeandClaud February 25 Found this using search. John & Ann Martin July 31, 2020 The owner's manual in my first 5th wheel had a list of cleaning products that were safe to use for the various surfaces in an RV. For the Shower and toilet - 409 and baking soda...  more

Rich and Bev February 25 Been full timing for 5yrs now. I'm the house cleaner of the duo and I've used regular hold cleaners every month with out issue.

Martin and Debbie Payne February 25 Whatever you use ends up in the black tank so I would try to stick with biodegradable products.  Black and grey tank additives are putting in good bacteria to break down solids so putting things in that work against that isn’t productive.

Rick & Lil February 26 Unless you can dump right away after you clean.

Dan-n-Jo February 27 Personally speaking, my black tank is not a septic tank, it merely hold whatever I put in it until I dump it. The "break down solids" would only matter if I did not use enough water or was attached to sewer bypassing my black "holding tank".

Kevin & Leslie February 25 But it depends on the materials. The sticker on my plastic shower suggested automotive car wash and spray/wipe off car detail. Meguaries seems to work and keep the shine. I personally use the biopacks for my black tank. I put some water ...  more

Rick & Lil February 26 Don't use bleach. Bleach will damage the seals as mentioned above.

Diana808 February 26 Those cleaners would harm the “good bug” culture in my black tank, says Happy Camper (black tank treatment) customer service. Ok immediately before dumping, but otherwise no.

Dan-n-Jo February 27 If there is '"good bug" culture' in your black tank, you need to dump it and flush. The good bug culture that you speak of is for septic systems, not temporary "holding tanks" like RV's have. But it is a good selling point for their product, it seems.
