    Read many articles on flat tow vs. dolly, pros cons etc
    Wanted to post here where many have already done this
    Have priced out tow bar package, a little over $4K including labor

      SVS (Hal) July 25, 2021 It's getting harder to find flat tows, however, what do you do with the dolly once you get to campsite? One more thing to juggle. I'll flat tow.

      Bruce & Pam Rozett July 25, 2021 We towed with a dolly for the first two years.  We had no problems.  But it takes 20 minutes to mount and dismount.  We sold the car and bought a Cherokee and now we flat tow.  Takes 5 minutes to connect or disconnect.  So much easier.  But it definitely ...  more

      Bill Joyce (and wife Diane Melde) July 25, 2021 Last year we got a Roadmaster Nighthawk towbar, the brackets on the car and Invisibrake installed for about the $4K price.

        I thought the Nighthawk would be an acceptable towbar as well as the invisbrake but Camping World said Invisibrake doesn't work well on Jeeps so quoted a top end $1,556 brake system which I was unsure as to why they said that

      Larry-Rosie July 26, 2021 I flat tow a 2019 Ford Ranger, chose flat instead of dolly don’t need to find a place to stow dolly at our stops.
