August 10Now that we are home from our big trip for the summer, I am totally ready to rip out the carpet and replace it! I hate vinyl so am thinking about a wood (type) flooring. Any suggestions from those of you have already done this?

Jim Robirts Jan Robirts August 27 I used Smart score from Lowe’s water proof flooting floor. Glued 3 rows in front of the side. Nice clean stuff hand cut all . So easy looks great and nothing moves. Leave 1/8 inch from wall . Jim

RebeccaJW August 10 There are LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) options that I have heard are great for RVs and easy to install.

cassandraonline August 10 I used a waterproof vinyl tile. Looks like wood planks. Very pleased how it turned out. 4 years and counting. Whatever you choose, be mindful of the added weight.

The Traveling Locavores August 10 We have wood and love it, but would worry less about it getting wet if it was vinyl that looked like wood.

Jim & Sharon Ham August 10 On ours, the factory put down the carpet, then put walls on top of it.  We used LVT with a wood grain pattern, but we glued it down rather than float as you might in a house.

Dave + Maggie August 10 Thanks everyone for the suggestions.  Ours is older and NEEDS the upgrade!  After taking this extended trip in it, removing the carpet is a definite goal!

Kitten and Pappy August 12 We're in the same situation.  Ours is a 92, the carpet is badly faded and the parquet flooring in the kitchen is a little rough.  The plan is to keep and dye the carpet in the cockpit area and bedroom but replace it with some type of waterproof vinyl or l...  more

Johndeer 5 hours ago I have used it. It is pressure sensative. Get some additional carpet glue or LVT Glue (same thing) and use it on the corners as well. It has to get very tacky before pressure sealing it down. Additional glue is approve on most the LVT I have read reviews on.

Kitten and Pappy September 22 It looks like the Allure just sticks to itself along the edges but overall is still a floating floor.  I'm wondering about vinyl tiles that the entire panel is peel and stick.  I plan to pull me sofa and the dinette, put down the flooring, reinstall the s...  more

Kitten and Pappy October 5 No one has responded to my question about peal and stick vinyl flooring so I’ll ask again and bump this up. Maybe somebody else will see it. Has anybody used the vinyl flooring that the entire surface is a peel and stick if so did you have to replace the...  more

Thumper’s parents October 5 I don’t use peel and stick anything, because it usually peels better than it sticks

Johndeer 5 hours ago Use additonal contact cement. And borrow/rent a floor roller used for that purpose. (Carpet glue and lvt glue about the same. Just be sure to let it get very tacky before rolling)
