Iris Krisch December 7, 2016 Stay on hiking trails & keep your dogs on leashes at all times unless you are inside an off leash dog park. Continue using flea/tick & heartworm medications regardless of the temperature & time of year.

Yoopers Don & Mary December 7, 2016 Thanks.  One specific area of concern is that when we are parked, I have this 40" high fencing I put together, giving them a 15' x 15' play area, but with some of these "hazzards" out there that would NOT be stopped by a fence, will it be safe to lea...  more

Deborah & Aaron Thompson December 7, 2016 I wouldn't advise ever leaving your dog unattended outside, even if you have them on a leash or in a pen. There's always the danger of them breaking the leash to chase something. Or, someone could take your dogs. Or a cruel person or child could thro...  more

Yoopers Don & Mary December 7, 2016 I understand the concerns.  We've used this fence on a couple of 8 day trips already, and it is 40"inches high and very solid, so they can't get out of it, and other dogs/creatures can't get in.  And I should clarify that when I say leave them, ...  more

ChaznSuzi December 8, 2016 Also watch for birds of prey that can swoop down on a small to medium dog on a leash and stick their talons in. And snakes can get through some fences.

Yoopers Don & Mary December 8, 2016 My girls are all 60-70 pound Golden Retrievers, so I doubt birds of prey would be an issue, but snakes do worry me, as they've likely never seem one before.   Last night all I could think about was the fact that the way I had worded one ...  more
